Today Lauren turned 1 week old, so we celebrated with a little cake after dinner. Lauren Margaret's grandmother made us a wonderful meal and is taking great care of all of us this week! Happy Birthday, Baby Girl! We love you!
We also gave Lauren her first bath today. It went pretty well except for a little "accident" she had after mommy wrapped her up in her towel BUT before she had a diaper on (you can read in between the lines on that one). It was quite funny!!
On another note, we took Lauren to her doctor's appt. yesterday...she was 7 lbs. 8 oz. at birth and then went down to 6 lbs. 13 oz. at the hospital. She gained 2 oz. before we left the hospital putting her at 6 lbs. 15 oz. Then, yesterday at her first doctor's appt. she weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 oz. (gained 6 oz in two days). She got a clean bill of health from Dr. Neely and then enjoyed brunch at Dream Cafe with her grandmommy and mom. It was a fun morning for all of us!
Lauren's 1st time in her swing...loves it! You'll have to turn your head sideways to see this...I need to figure out how to rotate the image...hmmm....???
I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge my wonderful new brother in law who is responsible for most of the pictures we have from Lauren Margaret's life thus far. He enjoys photography as a hobby and is quite talented if I do say so myself! Lauren Margaret is already spoiled by her one and only "UT". The "UT" is what Trent likes to call himself (a.k.a Uncle Trent). He loves the name b/c it makes Daddy (Brandon) crazy since he is such an OU fan. I think it's really cute. Here is a picture he touched up and signed for her. It made me cry when he sent it to me...so special. It's a rose from one of the arrangments we received after her birth. We will cherish this photo always.
