New Little Friends
We went to visit Avery and Allison Underwood yesterday. Avery is two weeks old! Isn't she cute? Mom, Dad, and Baby seem to be doing great! We look forward to more play dates and walks on The Katy Trail in the near future!!

Road Trip Home
On the way home from our trip to Houston, we stopped in Waco to visit Baylor (Mommy's college) and Lauren Margaret's great aunt and uncle (Aunt Carol and Uncle Dude). It was too windy to take pictures outside on campus, but we plan on doing so next trip! Here are some pictures at my aunt and uncle's house in Waco:

I just had to add this picture...Uncle Dude said, "This baby never cries!" She doesn't cry often, but just to prove that she is a "real" baby and does have her "moments"....here ya go. Even though she was quite upset in this picture, I still think it's so cute!

Houston Family and Friends
We have had so much fun here in Houston just relaxing and visiting with family and close friends. Lauren Margaret is getting lots of love here!!
Lauren is loving her grandparent's house. She can't wait to go see her Oklahoma grandparents, too!
Here is a pic of Martha Roddy and Lauren Margaret. Martha is a neighbor of my parents and an adopted grandmother to all the Todd girls. We love Martha!
KK and LM: We enjoyed a yummy dinner at KK, Uncle Bull, and Will's house. (they live across the street from Ju Ju and Granddaddy).
Here is my handsome cousin, Will! Will is now in high school, but I have pictures of me holding Will when he was Lauren's age...my, how time flies! We are so proud of Cousin Will! He is an honor roll student, awesome baseball player, member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and such a gentleman! We love you, Will!! What a great roll model you are for Lauren Margaret!
Here are Lexi and LM. Lexi and her family live across the street from Ju Ju. We remember when Lexi was this little. Now she's in the 4th grade and is so good with little Lauren!! Lexi gave LM some really cute monogrammed items...her mommy has a monogramming business, so she makes the cutest gifts ever!! Thank you, Tammy (Lexi's mom)!! I bought some cute summer dresses for Lauren Margaret and am leaving them for Tammy to work on! Can't wait to see how cute they turn out!

I met up with Kim Carver Winkler for lunch yesterday. Kim and I were college roommates and Kappas together at Baylor. Her daughter Sloan and Lauren Margaret are 8 days apart! (Sloan is 8 days younger than LM). I wonder if the girls will go to Baylor together...hmmm...wouldn't that be fun!! Maybe they can be roommates, too! Of course, with Daddy's who went to Rice and OU, we're going to have to do some major brainwashing to ensure that they become Baylor Bears like their mamas!

4 Weeks Old and Go Mustangs!
Lauren Margaret is 4 weeks old! Time really flies when you're having fun, right? Well, it is so true. We are just loving this little girl so much and are enjoying every moment!! She continues to be such a great baby...sleeping really well at night, eating, growing, playing, smiling, etc. We are in Houston this week - We drove up Monday!

Will You Be My Valentine?
Happy Valentine's Day!
We enjoyed an early Valentine's Day dinner together as a family last night at Mi Cocina. It was a fun date for the whole family!! Aunt Adrian will be here this weekend, so we are looking forward to having a lot of Valentine fun with her as well! Here is a picture of Lauren Margaret with her Valentine from Cooper Cunningham. 3 Weeks Old
Lauren Margaret turned 3 weeks old yesterday, 2/10/09. We enjoyed a nice lunch at Breadwinner's with Jen Sanders. Mommy forgot to take a picture...oops! LM slept through lunch which was great! It was fun getting out for a girls lunch with two of my favorite girls :)
We tried the Miracle Blanket for the first time last night and it seemed to really work! Thank you Kimberly for the recommendation!! LM is proving to be a strong little girl and can wiggle out of just about any swaddle (which in turn wakes her up), so we tried the Miracle Blanket...aka straight jacket...it seriously looks like one...and it kept her nice and tight in the swaddle. She slept from 11:00 pm until 2:00 am, ate, then went back down until about 5:45!! Yeah for the Miracle Blanket...will see if it prevails again this evening :)
At 3 weeks old here's are some things Lauren Margaret seems to enjoy doing:

- Smiling - has the cutest dimples just like her Daddy
- Listening to Mommy/Daddy talk to her...listens very intently and smiles
- Laying on rainforest mat...not loving tummy time just yet, but we try each day. She prefers being on her back on the mat. She gets plenty of neck lifting time on Daddy's tummy and Mom's shoulder...is always lifting that neck...so strong
- Seeing grandparents on web cam each night
- Tracking - found the fan the other day
- Looking out the window on a sunny day while on changing table
- Taking walks in her stroller and in the Hot Sling
- Swinging in her lamb swing

Firsts
With having a newborn there are lots of "firsts" going on around our house. Here are some from the past week:
Lauren Margaret found her little hand while Granmommy (Laura) was holding her on Thursday (2/5/09). She was just holding her arm out and looking at it. Then, she put her hand on Granmommy's mouth and just looked at it...got the camera a little too late, but you get the idea...

Daddy gave Lauren Margaret her first bottle Friday night (2/6/09) and just as suspected, she took it right away. (Anything involving eating has been one of her favorite things to do, so the bottle was a success!) The doctor suggested we give her one bottle a day just to ensure she will take a bottle in the future. This will be something special Daddy can do with his little girl each evening since Mommy feeds her throughout the rest of the day.
LM enjoyed playing on her new rainforest mat (2/6/09). She seems to enjoy the music and colors. There are lots of fun things to play with, listen to, and look at on and around the mat! CLICK HERE TO SEE A CUTE VIDEO.
This video only confirms our theory that Lauren Margaret's first words will not be Mama or DaDa like most babies...rather they will more likely be, "NO LUCY." After watching the video, we think you will agree :)

Recent Visitors
Well, we've almost introduced Lauren Margaret to the entire world which many of you could see from the many pictures taken at the hostpital (see The Paparrazi Visits LM post to view pics), but we've had a few more recent visitors here at the house this week. Here are a few pics of LM with her Great Grandparents: Daddy Smilie and Anne and our great friend Mandy Catlin. Other visitors this week included Cousin Amanda, Robyn Florsheim, Kristie Mills, Missy, Todd, and Dylan Rosenkranz, and Marcela Devlin. A Healthy Baby Girl
We had our 2 week checkup today with Dr. Neely (pictured above with LM). We dressed her in one of her Valentine outfits so she could be Dr. Neely's Valentine :) She got a great report today! She had to get her heel pricked for a test which made Mommy almost cry because it upset her so much.Lauren seems to be starting a little growth spurt (which the doctor said would be right around the corner) because all Baby wants to do is eat, eat, eat...the good news is she was up so much eating today, I think we'll have a great restful night of sleep (fingers and toes crossed for good luck) Even if she wants Mommy to hold her again all night, I will...I know this time will pass and I'll miss having these moments with her!
Here are her current "stats" as of today, 2/4/09:
Weight: 8lbs, 6 1/2 oz (birth weight was 7lbs, 8 oz...so we are really growing)
Height: 21 in (birth height was 19 3/4 in)
Dad had fun playing with LM this evening and telling us all about jury duty (he was selected as the 12th juror yesterday). One nice thing about jury duty is he's been able to come home for lunch the last few days, so we've enjoyed seeing him during the day!!

Two Weeks Old!
Today, Lauren Margaret turns 2 weeks old...time is just flying by and she changes so much each day. We are having so much fun watching her daily "awakenings"...smiling, cooing, opening her eyes, etc. She is wearing a "big girl" outfit her Aunt Sissy (Sarah) bought for her. We actually made it out of our pajamas today...hip, hip, hooray!!

Weekend Fun
This weekend The Lees (Laura, Jim, and Carrie) came in as well as our good family friends, Hershey and Becky Muse. Sarah and Dad also flew up to join my mom who has been here for over a week. We took LM out for Aunt Carrie's birthday at St. Martin's Wine Bistro Saturday night....our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
