Grand Cayman Trip '09

We are back from our trip to Grand Cayman! We had such a wonderful time....relaxing with family on the beach ! It was LM's first long flight and she did great! She won the hearts of all the passengers with her big smile! She had her very own little room with her pack n play and slept like a champ. She even took super long naps each day...she was a busy little girl. The monitor reached to the pool, so I snuck in some quiet time each day by the pool which was so nice!

It was a great week...thanks to Nana and Daddy Jim for making it so special for Lauren Margaret's first visit! Can't wait until next time!

Friday we drove to Houston to drop off the dogs and visit with family. It was nice seeing everyone...even Katie came in from Austin...mom and dad had a full house again!
Sissy and Uncle T
Hanging at Grandmommy and Granddaddy's in Houston
She climbed all the way to the top!

LM with her cousin Will...she's wearing the Cubs jersey he got her in Chicago! So cute!! She LOVES Will!!

Saturday we met up with Aunt Carrie and Uncle Andrew at the airport in Houston and flew to Grand Cayman
That afternoon and were welcomed by Nana and Daddy Jim

LM with the roses Nana got her

That afternoon we hit the pool and had dinner at Billy Bones which is the little hut restaurant right by where we stayed!
Sunday we played at the pool and the beach all day.

Heeeeeyyyyy!

First sunset at the beach

Aunt Adrian arrived on Sunday afternoon

That night we ate at a new place called Sunshine Grill and sat under a Big Ass Fan (no, really...that is what it was called...) It was a great casual place and was really yummy!

Monday went out on a sailboat to Stingray City. This was the first year we had our own boat...it was so nice and really fun. I had never been on a sailboat, so it was a pretty neat experience (until we went through the brief rain storm and the boat literally was on it's side. We were all in the cabin thank goodness but we were on our side none the less...that was a bit too "Gilligan's Island for me, kay?) The storm passed, or we passed through it and were greeted with this view

We did some snorkeling
LM took a nap

Hung out with her Aunts
and sailed with her Daddy!
Hanging in the cabin chomping on some cantaloupe
Sailing is fun, fun, fun!

Monday got some family pictures taken in the traditional khaki/white attire - we laughed about all going out to eat in our matching clothes but opted to stay in and order Ragazo's pizza which is quite possibly the tastiest pizza I've ever had! I look forward to that each year!
Our little family

Loves of my life

LM with her Aunts...Carrie and Adrian...do you think it will be years before she can tell them apart? Hope not (twins)!!

The fam looking at one of Grand Cayman's famous sunsets (well, famous to us!)

Tuesday lunch at Icoa, did some shopping, and had dinner at The Wharf

Wednesday Adrian left to go back to Virginia...we were sad to see her go...we were able to get a shot of everyone in our yearly Grand Cayman shirts. Note...even LM had one :-) Thanks to Aunt Carrie/Adrian for designing them!

Wednesday evening we went to Eduardo's....one word...YUMMY!!!

Thursday we went shopping in Georgetown which is the downtown area. Lauren Margaret got her very own Cayman Critter (their version of Build a Bear). His name is Iggy Iguana. I have a feeling that will be a hot spot for her for years to come...Daddy Jim had fun helping her pick out an outfit for Iggy. They selected the rasta gear....how perfect!
Thursday evening Brandon and I went to the Lobster Pot just the two of us. We went there the first time I went with The Lees when we were dating, so it was neat to go back there together 6 years later!

Friday, our last night, we went to Hemmingways and it was YUMMY! So glad we tried some new places this time...always fun!
Our little lobster

Saturday we didn't leave until 4, so we headed down to Coral Stone to play on the beach and in the water.

Lauren Margaret opening her very special gift from her grandparents to add to her collection....a Herend Stingray...this one is only available in Grand Cayman! Another one for the "tall shelf"!

It was hard to pic my favorites, but here are some of them...all in random order...here goes!

Just hanging out playing in the dirt!
Love this baby girl!!
Aunt Carrie, LM, Mommy, and NanaDip in the water with DaddyThe cutest flip flops ever!Digging to China with Daddy JimGotta love the ruffles on the bumA mouthful of sandSo, that was our week in a nutshell...well, how about a coconut shell (okay, bad joke)...I try! I wouldn't be doing Grand Cayman justice unless my last picture was a picture of one of it's beautiful sunsets.......the last sunset
